Aliotos review: Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco

in Dining on 04/20/17

aliotos-review-fishermans-wharf-san-fransiscoAliotos is the restaurant you want to be at when you’re at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Why? Because it does seafood, service and atmosphere right, the whole experience is a positive wholesome one at Aliotos.

Nestled in the heart of San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf, this historic restaurant has been serving the freshest local seafood and Sicilian dishes to tourists and locals alike for almost a century. Dining here will show you why they’ve stood the test of time.

Whether you’re after lunch, dinner or perhaps just a light snack and drink, you’ll find it all here (with the exception of ice-cream!)

Love your scenery?

Aliotos has beautiful outlook of San Francisco Harbour and the Golden Gate Bridge, with an  upstairs dining room where you’ll get waterfront views. Perhaps alfresco dining suits you better watching the hustle and bustle of Fisherman’s Wharf? Whatever your preference, there’s a seating arrangement that’s right for everyone.

The service is fantastic at Aliotos

Customer service at Aliotos is second to none, this was the main swaying factor in us choosing to dine here (as the choice in eateries at Fisherman’s Wharf is huge). The staff cater to all your needs and are lovely and friendly, the service is extremely quick too.

Delicious food

aliotos-review-fishermans-wharf-san-fransiscoThe food looks, smells and tastes delicious. You know when you go to a restaurant and the whole menu looks so great it becomes really hard to choose? well this is one of those places, you watch waiters bring out the most delicious looking plates and all the food being eaten around looks so great, it becomes even harder to order still. At least you know you should be right with anything you order.

aliotos-review-fishermans-wharf-san-fransiscoWe came in for an early evening snack and shared between us the fish and chips, crab sandwich and a mud cake (all of which were delicious) Sam even reckons the crab sandwich was the best he’d ever tasted!

You’ll find drinks that cater to all tastes, alcoholic and non alcoholic as well as a selection of after dinner drinks.

Great for families

You’ll see a lot of families here so it’s comfortable dining with small children and there are lots of suitable menu items available for children as well as the little fisherman’s menu.

Conclusion

There’s so much variety to choose from when it comes to picking a place to eat, do you want a restaurant? A pub meal? A takeaway so you can continue walking and experiencing Fisherman’s Wharf?

Aliotos is somewhat all of those rolled into one ( they have a takeaway area out the front where they cook fresh seafood if you would prefer to not dine in) but ultimately it’s a fantastic, relatively informal and delightfully friendly restaurant with only pros and no cons, which we highly recommend if you’re in the area.

❄️ Have you had the pleasure of dining at Aliotos? We’d love to hear what you thought if you have.
